Straight River Rest Area

Located between the fields of southern Minnesota and the I-35 corridor, the Straight River Rest area in Owatonna, Minnesota, lets visitors inhabit an elevated terrace, offering panoramic views and reflections of the wooded river valley beyond. The architect wanted to play with the duality of a modern aesthetic and the surrounding natural forest area, drawing on Wausau Tile's pavers and custom precast concrete and wood site furnishings, along with Wausau Tile's contemporary site furnishings
