Aksarben Village Plaza, part of a multi-use development on the historic grounds of the 1919 AK-Sar-Ben (Nebraska spelled backwards) Horse Racetrack and Coliseum, is now a vibrant hub with cinemas, shopping, businesses, and restaurants, alongside residential spaces. The plaza aims to cater to daytime visitors and offer a safe and welcoming environment for nearby residents in the evening.
Wausau Tile's Our Town Collection played a crucial role in shaping the plaza. The smooth, rounded surface of Our Town benches, featuring an acid wash finish and a mix of colors, offers a fabric-friendly and flexible design. The precast's long-term low maintenance and substantial weight ensure durability. The modular design allows for versatile spaces, catering to small groups and family gatherings. The addition of the WS5161 Star Bench with a polished top adds geometric diversity and visual appeal, especially when viewed from surrounding upper floors.
