Wausau Tile was chosen as the exclusive manufacturer for this major renovation due to our capabilities to deliver on the project’s unique requirements. The pavers were water jet cut and meticulously adorned with hand-inserted steel buttons, epoxied into circular voids, creating a mesmerizing reflective effect amidst the vibrant lights of Times Square.
With a variety of sizes and colors, the stainless steel button pavers bring a striking, attention-grabbing allure to one of the nation’s most renowned public spaces.
These custom pavers for New York City’s Times Square – designed by Snohetta and installed by Prestige Stone – are unique works of art in what is undoubtedly one of the most iconic projects in the Wausau Tile portfolio. The sprawling plaza is nestled in the heart of midtown Manhattan, and is seen by millions of residents and visitors each day.
