The ARTIC
Terrazzo Treads and Risers for High-Traffic Areas
Anaheim, California
Completed: 2015
The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, or "ARTIC,” is an eye-catching transit hub that connects thousands of California residents and visitors each day via a network of train, bus and commuter rail routes.
The steel-framed building features numerous and memorable architectural features, from a 120-foot-tall glass wall entrance to an arched roof that’s illuminated by colorful lights. But it’s Wausau Tile's terrazzo treads and risers that tie the transit hub’s overall design together. The stairs, flanked by two escalators, serve as ARTIC’s centerpiece, seamless connecting the building’s two floors. The shimmering, flowing and gorgeous overall design ensures that everyone who steps inside the ARTIC is transported to a beautiful experience.
