Serving families in New York City’s Village, Chelsea, Union Square and Flatiron neighborhoods, PS 340 was completely transformed from an old hospital building into the vibrant and exciting elementary school it is today. The inclusion of Wausau Tile terrazzo products helps PS 340 achieve a unique, consistent look.
A wrap-around terrazzo staircase leading to the second floor is accompanied by matching terrazzo tile. The staircase itself is covered with thin epoxy terrazzo panels and benches that provide a comfortable sitting area before entering the cafeteria. Wausau Tile matched the precast terrazzo to the tile, creating a seamless transition between the two and giving the entire project a unified feel.
